Azumazeki stable

東関部屋

Azumazeki stable no longer exists: the Japan Sumo Association board approved its closure on 12 March 2021, and the 14th Azumazeki and six wrestlers moved to Hakkaku stable effective 1 April 2021. According to Japanese Wikipedia, the stable belonged to the Takasago ichimon and was founded in February 1986 by the 12th Azumazeki, former sekiwake Takamiyama, who split off from Takasago stable. It started in Higashikomagata, Sumida ward, Tokyo, and moved to Katsushika ward in January 2018. The same source lists Akebono Taro, the 64th yokozuna (the highest rank in sumo), for the stable; no ozeki is listed for the stable in that source.
