Matsugane stable

松ヶ根部屋

According to Japanese Wikipedia, the Matsugane stable no longer exists under this name: it was renamed Nishonoseki stable on 1 December 2014 and Hanaregoma stable on 24 December 2021. The same source says the stable was founded on 18 February 1990 in Funabashi, Chiba, by the 9th Matsugane, Mutsuo, the former ozeki (the second-highest rank) Wakashimazu, who branched off from Futagoyama stable with two pupils. It also records an earlier, separate Matsugane stable, founded in the Taisho era, which closed in the 1940s; its pupils went to Nishonoseki stable.
