Miyagino stable
Miyagino stable no longer exists: on 28 May 2026 the Japan Sumo Association board lifted the custody of its wrestlers under Isegahama stable and did not revive the stable, and its wrestlers formally belong to Isegahama stable. Its last head was the 13th Miyagino, the former Hakuho, whose highest rank was 69th yokozuna, the highest rank in sumo. According to Japanese Wikipedia, the stable was founded in the Meiji era and belonged to the Isegahama ichimon. Hakuho and Otori Tanigoro, the 24th yokozuna, are the yokozuna listed for the stable.
Otori, promoted to the 24th yokozuna in June 1915, took the elder name Miyagino as its 7th holder in May 1916 while still active.
After the stable became Miyagino-beya in 1960, its white-walled building of solid cypress in Yokoami, Sumida, was called Yoshiba Goten (Yoshiba Palace).
