Nishikijima stable

錦島部屋

According to Japanese Wikipedia, Nishikijima stable no longer exists under this name: it was merged into Tokitsukaze stable in 1964 (Showa 39), and the Nishikijima stable name was closed. It was founded by maegashira Ojigata Daigoro of Nishikido stable, who took the name 7th Nishikijima; the page gives no founding year. After Ojigata Kumezo became the 8th head in January 1916, many sekitori (wrestlers in juryo or the top division) from Akita Prefecture were produced there. It trained ozeki (the second-highest rank) Noshirogata Kinsaku, who reached East ozeki in January 1927.

HeadKimura Kesazo (former sanyaku-rank gyoji, not a wrestler) took over in May 1956 after the 9th Nishikijima (former maegashira Ojiyama) died (per Japanese Wikipedia); the article does not say he held the Nishikijima elder name, so naming him the last head is an inference from the 1964 closure
