Yamawake stable

山分部屋

Yamawake stable does not exist today: according to Japanese Wikipedia, it was closed in May 1949 and its wrestlers joined Dewanoumi stable. According to the same source, the last head was Komanosato Hideo, who held the elder name Yamawake from November 1944 until his death on 16 March 1971, and the stable belonged to the Dewanoumi ichimon. No yokozuna or ozeki is listed for the stable in the Japanese Wikipedia pages read. Its best-known wrestlers, per Japanese Wikipedia, were Komanosato (highest rank maegashira 2), Chikuozan (makuuchi) and Shirasagi (juryo).

While the keito-betsu round-robin system was in use, Yamawake wrestlers did not fight wrestlers of Dewanoumi or Kasugano stable, because of the stable's history (per Japanese Wikipedia).
